The debut album 'Broken Archetypes' by Cosmitorium is out now on all streaming services and to download on Bandcamp!
https://cosmitorium.bandcamp.com/album/broken-archetypes I recorded Cosmitorium's single 'Peak & Surrender' in 2020 (which was my first recording with my Carillion fretless) and then the guys asked me to record the full album in 2021. Once I had my other recording commitments out the way, I was able to finish recording the album in December 2022 (which includes a newly-mixed version of Peak & Surrender) - and the album is now finally finished and seeing the light of day!
A tech-death album with lots of odd time-signatures and fast tempos, I wrote and recorded all my own parts and there are plenty of 'bass feature' moments on the album. I recorded dry, but during the mixing stage we decided to have 2 bass sounds on the album. A 'cleaner' one for the 'bass features' and a heavier one for playing along with the guitars, and I think it turned out pretty cool. I hope you enjoy the album and let me know what you think!
I recorded all the tracks with my Carillion 6-string fretless with Bartolini pickups and Rotosound RS66 roundwound strings, straight into my Focusrite interface.

UPDATE: The Broken Archetypes Bass Transcription digi-book is out now! The first half of the book has the transcriptions of the tracks in both tablature and standard notation and the second half of the book has the songs written again, but only in standard notation.
